All Is Fair (Poetic Interlude)

Strangely enough
I am happily married
to a woman who has caused me
no end to misery.
To be able to endure
the barbs of her tongue
grants me the freedom
to roam.
For if her bosom
was a welcoming embrace
then maybe
I'd call it a home.

The Trick,
I see,
is boyish glee
wielded with the competence
of a man
and if troubles do befall
a laugh is what we'll have.
For I have Love
sealed upon my heart
and if there is anything else
I've seen,
it's that we'll have
the chance
to do it once again
from the beginning
for eternity.
