In my mind I never thought you'd look like this
The space of time we spent together never hinted
Now your soul slips away into the abyss

Knowingly, I kissed you goodbye
Releasing you into the setting sun
But memories emblazoned mournfully sigh
Day in, day out until time is done

How? Why? What if? Then nothing
I resolve this is what was meant to be
